auctions8.com is the exciting new international auctions & trading site. Our founding members are the small sellers who were pushed out by the policy changes on feebay. We have representatives in several countries & our aim is to rebuild the international community we once had. Like most feebay refugees we loved the community spirit there & were very upset when it was taken away. It meant so much to us we decided to recreate it on our own site. We welcome all internationals. This is reflected in our currencies, our domain and our time zone is world central. Administrators come from Australia & the USA.
We wanted a place where we could stay without the fear of everything changing in the pursuit of money. At auctions8 we will be donating 50% of our profits to charities. That will leave us enough capital to keep growing but we will not be driven by greed. That is the difference. We are not here to line our pockets by taking advantage of other members.
Our fees will always be very low & our members will have a say in how the site runs. We will not allow people who do not know how to behave to remain on our site. We will not allow negative feedback to be left until it has been assessed as being fair & reasonable. We will not tolerate spite or bullying. If you want to take advantage of others, don’t come here. We will not allow it. If you value the worldwide community we had & enjoyed having friends across the globe you will find it here. Join up & tell your friends. All our members are strongly encouraged to participate as much as possible.
Most users have previous history that would be invaluable to a seller. At sign up please answer a question as to where you have been a member previously or currently. We respect all users history and appreciate the hard work that goes into build up a feedback. Please feel free to copy and paste your previous or current membership details from other sites for easy verification for your buyers. A page has been dedicated for each user to utilise in order to show the buyers sellers background. auctions8.com will NOT require a verification after sign up if you have been referred by one of our hard working team members.
www.auctions8.com is NOT about leaving malicious comments about others and being nasty. We are way beyond all that. Our community is made up of great people with the same objectives of having pleasure from buying and selling online, making some money and meeting new friends. We will do anything we can to keep auctions8.com clean and enjoyable in the future.
We are discouraging all our members from leaving negative feedback for another member. Accordingly, every positive experience will count as +1 and can be automatically recorded against the users name. All negative feedbacks will be directed to a Feedback Panels for revision and only recorded after Feedback Panel's approval.
At www.auctions8.com the sellers maintain their businesses and trading is under the sellers terms and conditions.
All sellers are free to choose any payment method they like from their buyers.
All buyers should read clearly the sellers Terms & Conditions before they bid or buy. Buyers who are not satisfied with the sellers Terms & Conditions for each of the items are discouraged to deal with that particular seller.
Suggestions for Safe trading online
There are some dangers when trading on the internet and there are few basic steps that need to be adhered to as few people out there who try to fool unsuspecting internet users.
1. Only use accredited payment gateways displayed on the site's Members Area.
We DO NOT recommend Paying for an item via Direct Deposit for items from unknown or unverified users.
2. If it looks too good to be true it usually is.
3. We do not recommend Western Union or MoneyGram to process payments.
4. Always use and escrow service if you are sending money overseas or if it is a large purchase.
5. Buying motor Vehicles over the internet is very dangerous without proper verification of the seller.
6. If you want to buy a motor vehicle you must be sure, it actually exists, you have had it checked by an accredited inspector, it is not stolen goods, it can be registered for your intended use, it can be imported if purchasing from overseas. If all of these things are checked and meet your approval you should not settle on the payment until all of your checks are completed.
Fake/Suspicious emails
If you receive an email that appears to be from auctions8.com requesting personal information don't reply to it. The email is more than likely a spoof or phishing email. The senders of these fake emails are hoping that you will reply or click on a link in the email and provide personal information including bank account and credit card numbers and passwords.
auctions8.com will never ask you to provide your account numbers, passwords or other confidential information via an email. If auctions8.com does request information from you and you are unsure that it is from us do not click on any links or provide any information. Any email that mentions a problem with your account or requests personal information is likely to be a fake.
These Phishing emails often include the use of the www.auctions8.com logo and a www.auctions8.com address in the "From" line (e.g."From: support@auctions8.com"). The email may look like common www.auctions8.com emails, such as notifications of problems with listings or your account etc.
Some typical Phishing emails typically have the following:
· Requests sensitive information (e.g. Please update your credit card number)
· Starts with a friendly greeting (e.g. Dear auctions8.com member)
· Has an urgent tone for quick action (e.g. urgent attention required Ignoring this message will result in a suspension of your account)
· Or will contain links to web pages that resemble the www.auctions8.com sign-in page
When you receive a suspicious email
· Do not click on any link in the email. The purpose of phishing emails is to lead you to a website in an attempt to collect your personal information and to steal your identity.
· Report the email by forwarding it to contact us via our contact us section on our main page. We' will confirm to you if it is a legitimate email from www.auctions8.com or not. If you're ever unsure don't do anything!! Contact us immediately for clarification.
