As
members of the Polynesian tribes, our family carvers are allowed to
gather ancient whale bones from Alaska. The fossilized whale bones we
use are over 100 years old. We do not encourage widespread and
commercial whaling. The carvings we create from the fossilized bones we
collect by hand honor both the traditions of our people and the
wonderful creatures celebrated by all of the native tribes who have
lived by the oceans.
The
unique character of fossilized bone adds an extra depth to the
intricacy of all of our traditional hand-carved pieces. All of our
designs are available in fossilized whalebone. Please note the lok of
the pieces in the samples pictured below.
